Cinema ABC opened in Brussels in 1972 and knew the golden or of pornography, sometimes called ” enchanted parenthesis “. It closed definitely in 2013, as it was one of the last porn theaters in the world to continue to screen films on argentic 35mm reels/ Through its history, this books draws the portrait of an forbidden underground world. Along its 41 years of existence, CInema ABC has became a sort of clandestine museum, full of celluloid reels, piles of posters and photos pouring out of boxes stacked one on another : a maze of of spots haunted by untold stories. The book gathers many historical references, testimonies from people who attended the place or worked there : viewers, striptease dancers, projectionnists. Texts are a abundantly ilustrated by rare or unseen documents : lobby cards, ads, newspaper bits, posters…
